From 1987 to 1997, Dirk and his wife were directors at one of the highest quality programs in the world for juniors. He went on to found the LINES programs with many of the same advantages that it offered (intensive language lessons in small classes, a high level of individual attention, and a wide variety of on and off-campus activities, including professional sports training.) The program at Downe House in the UK was the first of the three LINES programs. I find it unique when compared to other summer camps in that it is available to a complete age range, allowing for siblings or friends of very different ages to attend it, but the student body is narrowed down into four specific age groups which have their own classes and social activity calendars. For students who like London, the county of Berkshire is not far from there, allowing for visits to the city, many of which are included in the price of the program.\r\n\r\nOne of the things I appreciate most about LINES is Dirk himself. In responding to inquiries for availability or more information about anything, he provides some of the fast replies I have ever seen despite the fact that outside the summer he is often traveling. He is more than enthusiastic about offering these programs to my clients, and has gone to great lengths to present information about them and render them easy for them to book. Residential staff will be living on site with students to provide 24-hour supervision.\r\n\r\n<strong>Medical Facility<\/strong>\r\nQualified first-aiders are available on site 24 hours a day.\r\n\r\n<strong>Airport Transfers<\/strong>\r\nTransfers to and from Heathrow airport can be arranged for an additional fee. Arrival must be on Saturdays (except for the first arrival day which is a Sunday) and departures on Saturdays. Marshall Language Services will need to furnish the participant\u2019s flight information to LINES Downe House so that the airport transfers can be organized. Parents will receive detailed instructions on what the student should do when their flight arrives. It is also possible for parents to accompany their children to the campus personally.\r\n\r\nWhen the program is over, staff will accompany the participants back to the airport and check them into their flights.
