English Course and Summer Camp in Fort Lauderdale
Overview
Fort Lauderdale is named for a Second Seminole War fortification built on the banks of the New River in 1838. It is situated on the southeast coast of Florida, one hour north of Miami. It is embraced by the Atlantic Ocean, New River and a myriad of scenic inland waterways, which give it its name, the “Venice of America.” It is an attractive business environment, with a diverse range of industries, an outstanding quality of life, and a great climate, making Fort Lauderdale the perfect place to live, work and study.
Why study English in Fort Lauderdale?
Fort Lauderdale offers many opportunities for recreation, relaxation and enjoyment, from sunning on its white sand beaches, riding in gondolas on the canals, to strolling along a historic riverfront. Just 3 kilometers north of Port Everglades, students can experience Fort Lauderdale’s landscaped beachfront promenade, with its signature white wave wall and brick paved path. Across the street, they can visit luxury hotels, shop, dine, or participate in a narrated amphibious tour of the quaint Las Olas Boulevard, historical districts, and the mansions and yachts along Millionaires Row. Nearby, the red brick road of the Fort Lauderdale Riverwalk leads to a landscaped park and the Arts and Entertainment District. Fitness buffs can dive into the Atlantic, hike in the Everglades, or enjoy a workout and healthy fare at a resort spa.
For international language students, Ft. Lauderdale is close to Miami, but offers a much more English-speaking environment with respect to the latter city.
