High School Abroad
The programs in this section are for enrolment in a high school abroad, which can be either a public (state) school, private (also religious) school that they attend during the day and stay with a local host family, or a public or private boarding school. Students may choose lower-priced options in which they have less choice over the school in which they enrol, or standard-priced options in which they select the actual school. Depending on the particular school, students may remain for stays as short as 12 weeks, or 1-3 terms (trimesters). This section also contains programs that are tailored to the INPS Itaca program.

SELECT PROGRAM
The ultimate choice for students who know exactly what they want. Select a specific school by the beach, a school with strong academic preparation, in a famous city, that has a certain academic, sports or arts program. We’ll help you choose the best public/state, private or boarding school for you, and arrange a safe and caring home to live in. Programs from 2 weeks to multiple years. Everything you have dreamed of! An ideal pathway to university.

CLASSIC EXCHANGE PROGRAM
The traditional exchange program for cultural immersion. Live with a welcoming host family, while improving your language skills and attending a local High School. We (or partners) choose the school. Not recommended as a pathway to university.

ACADEMIC EXCHANGE PROGRAM
The hybrid program. We choose the school, but students can request a sport, art or subject, and graduate with a diploma. More flexible than the Classic program. Can be used as a pathway to university.

USA
The USA is our most popular high school destination every year. We are not surprised why – the country has it all! Worldclass cities like Los Angeles, Boston, San Francisco and Miami, and warm and friendly midwestern towns. Explore famous beaches, mountains, forests and deserts!
CANADA
Experience high school in a bilingual country with one of the world’s best educational systems, amazing nature, and world-class skiing! Canada is full of friendly people welcoming international students. We work with a wide range of schools in vibrant cities such as Vancouver, Toronto, and Montréal, as well as smaller communities.
THE UNITED KINGDOM
Experience the United Kingdom – a beautiful country with a great history and traditions and the birthplace of the English language! In the United Kingdom, there are different kind of high schools. You may attend a private or public boarding school, “traditional” secondary school or Sixth Form College.
IRELAND
In Ireland, you will experience a fascinating country with traditional music, an ancient language, and beautiful sceneries. The education in Ireland has a very good reputation and attract many foreign students every year. The teachers are experienced, and the classes are often quite small with approximately 17 pupils. Common subjects are science, IT, language, and economics.
AUSTRALIA
G’day mate — welcome to Down Under! Surrounded by the Pacific and Indian oceans, Australia is located in the Southern Hemisphere where summer and winter are in reverse from that in the Northern Hemisphere. Australia has several different climates, beautiful natural landscapes, and an ethnically diverse population. Watch a “footy game,” climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and hug a koala. Study in a beach town, a modern city, or in a wilderness area. The lifestyle, plants, animals, and landscapes make Australia a great place for your adventure!
NEW ZEALAND
New Zealand is comprised of two main islands (the North and the South), the latter of which is famous for its majestic Southern Alps. In winter, the skiing is great on both islands. In the summer, you can find swimmers, snorkelers, and surfers all along the beach — there’s not a place in the country that is more than an hour drive from the coast. Schools offer a large selection of subjects taught in a friendly, casual way that inspires a love of learning. Many schools have outdoor education programs which teach teamwork and other life skills.
GERMANY
Football, beautiful national parks, and vibrant big cities. As an exchange student in Germany you will get a genuine experience of one of Europe’s most exciting countries! Modern cities such as Munich and Berlin are hubs of technology, but history buffs will also appreciate monuments such as the sombering Holocaust Memorial and the symbolic Brandenburg Gate. For those who love outdoor sports, the Black Forest’s scenic beauty is unsurpassed and the slopes of Bavaria offer some of the best downhill and cross-country skiing on the continent.
FRANCE
“Le Lycée,” or high school, in France has an incredible reputation for education. Learn to appreciate the French way of life and its beautiful culture and language while studying in a day school or at a boarding school, even in the heart of Paris! Historical sites, monuments, and castles are seen throughout the country. The iconic Parisian lifestyle, glamorous Côte d’Azur, French cuisine, and culture will become a part of your everyday life while studying in France.
SPAIN
Spain’s rich culture, beautiful nature, and laid-back lifestyle attracts exchange students from all over the world. Spain is a warm, energetic, and fun country—a truly exciting place to live and learn. High school in Spain is called “Bachillerato” and lasts for two years. Most of our exchange students are placed in the first year of Spanish high school. All classes are in Spanish, and before you know it, you will be fluent in a language spoken by millions of people! Spain’s pleasant climate creates excellent opportunities for you to stay active.
DENMARK, FINLAND, NORWAY & SWEDEN
The people who live in the Nordic countries are some of the happiest in the world! With that in mind, this is a fantastic place to study. Nordic countries are famous for their contemporary design. Discover Northern Europe’s popular music scene that brought you pop superstars Kygo, Swedish House Mafia, and Icona Pop. Spend time in Copenhagen, Helsinki, Oslo, or Stockholm — cities that mix a sophisticated urban vibe with unique architecture and beautiful scenery.
ARGENTINA
Que haces Che! Come to the home of mate, Borges and Sabato, and unbridled passions for football, Rugby, and asados. Students will have the opportunity to experience a fascinating culture with a mixture of traditional Latin American lifestyle with an important European influence. They will experience the peculiar pronunciation of Argentine Spanish and the unique way of life.
ITALY
Sunny Italy is made up of 20 regions, all of which have their own traditions, dishes, and way of life. Beautiful medieval towns, massive mountains, fashionable big cities, ancient sites, and dreamy beaches along the coast. It is safe to say that Italy has something for everyone! As an exchange student in Italy, you will get to experience how it is living like a true Italian teenager.
SWITZERLAND
With its location near the center of Europe, Switzerland is well-placed for the exchange student to make the most of an opportunity to learn about Europe and European culture. Home to many foreigners as well as native Swiss citizens, Switzerland is a multilingual country that welcomes people of all backgrounds. As a result, traditional Swiss customs mingle with those brought in by foreigners. Today, Switzerland is also the home of many well established museums and world-famous performing arts festivals. Switzerland also places a strong emphasis on conservation and environmentalism, making it ideal for anyone interested in learning about nature and the environment.
CHINA
Studying abroad for high school in China allows for a fantastic adventure. Whether you’re visiting famous sights such as the Great Wall of China, Tiananmen Square, the hyper-modern buildings of Shanghai, or the natural beauty of the Yellow Mountains or the Li River, you’re likely to see and enjoy new and exciting things. As you live your day-to-day life, you’ll also enjoy lantern-lined streets, bustling markets, and temples. Many exchange students in China also expand their global awareness and develop invaluable life skills.
JAPAN
Do you want to learn how to eat ramen like a pro, find rare Pokemon on Mount Fuji, or get lost in the crowds at Shibuya Crossing? If you do, why not consider a high school study abroad program in Japan? During a school year, there will be many events like school trips, ball days, concerts, and graduation. Get a chance to do funny relay exercises during Sports Day, or undoukai, or get scared stiff by a Grudge look-alike at a student horror house during the Cultural Festival, or bunkasai.
