For students aged 8-16, Studio Cambridge’s Sir Edward summer camp offers intensive English courses at all levels in a beautiful English setting in the Cambridgeshire countryside. The summer camp takes place at the King’s Ely School, a world-famous private boarding school with a wonderful medieval campus. The program features Harry Potter-themed lessons, activities and excursions ensuring an unforgettable experience for younger students.
Ely is a beautiful, peaceful city in the heart of the Cambridgeshire countryside: the ideal setting for children. Its magnificent cathedral, established in 1083, dominates the city and makes this one of the finest and most unspoilt medieval cities in Britain. The city center has a traditional English feeling, with shops and a market square. With a population of only 20,000 people, Ely feels more like a village than a city—everything is close-by—and the atmosphere is friendly.
Founded in the year 970, King’s is one of the oldest schools in the world. Students will live on-campus in one of the wonderful, old residences. The Sir Edward summer camp has been running at King’s Ely every year since 2008.
Ely is located 120 kilometers from London and 25 kilometers north of Cambridge.

Studio Cambridge Sir Edward: King’s School, Barton Rd, Ely CB7 4DB, United Kingdom
“Studio Cambridge added this junior program in Ely, near Cambridge, in 2008, and like all of their programs, has been a bestseller ever since. The younger age group on this program will enjoy the Harry Potter-themed activities and the traditional, medieval English campus setting, whose building interiors have been renovated to modern, comfortable standards (as is not always the case with “traditional” buildings in England). With Sir Edward’s 200 participants overall, the program is large enough even for students attending it by themselves to make many new friends, and to have a wide selection of afternoon activities. The King’s School campus is famous for being located in the shadow of one of the most magnificent cathedrals in the world, and in fact, the school was founded over 1000 years ago to educate the Ely cathedral choristers. Students will be able to see it, along with the medieval town center, on an accompanied visit with the staff. Then off-campus excursions, they will enjoy visits to the classic destinations of London and Cambridge aimed at younger students. Parents can also appreciate that like with all good junior programs, Studio Cambridge does not accept more than 25% of a single group of mother tongue speakers on its programs, allowing their children the opportunity to speak English with children of many different nationalities. This program fills up very early every year (even by mid-March the spaces are almost completely booked), attesting its desirability at the international level.”
