Overview
Leysin is located at an altitude of 1200m above Aigle in the lower Rhone Valley, in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland. It is a mountain town with attractive facilities for families and a splendid view of the Rhone plain, Mont Blanc, the Dents du Midi and the Diablerets mountains.
Once a health resort for lung diseases that was prized for its sunny and mild climate, Leysin is now renowned as an important educational center of Switzerland, as it is home to five international schools.
Leysin offers a wide range of scenic excursions for nature lovers in its surrounding areas during the summer, and is one of Switzerland’s major ski resorts in winter.

Kuklos Restaurant
The panoramic Kuklos restaurant, housed in a building completely made of glass, is located near the Tours d’Aï and Famelon is a true feast for the eyes! Located at 2048 meters above sea level, its patrons can enjoy fine dining while admiring Lake Geneva, the Matterhorn, Mont Blanc, the Dents du Midi and the Alps. The restaurant completes a full rotation in one hour and a half.
Swiss Vapeur Parc
The Swiss Vapeur Parc is a Swiss railway theme park in Le Bouveret, on the southeastern shore of Lake Geneva, just a 40-minute drive from Leysin. The park consists of a miniature railway system with real 1: 3 scale steam trains.
Aigle Castle
Aigle Castle is an impressive heritage monument that dominates the Rhone Valley. At its origins in the early 13th century, it was a fortress guarding the area at the mouth of the Ormonts valley on the Blonaire hill. In the 15th century, the Bernese seized the castle and gave it its present appearance. In the 19th century, it served as a municipal courthouse, prison and housing for poor families. Finally, in 1975 it was restored and now houses the Museum of Wine.
Aigle
Aigle originated as a Savoyard city in the 13th century. At 415 meters above sea level, the city is located in the heart of a rich grape-growing region.
Chillon Castle
Chillon Castle is located in Veytaux, on the shore of Lake Geneva, a 35-minute drive from Leysin. It has 100 independent buildings that were gradually united and now form a single building.
How to Arrive at your Language Course
By Rail
The TPC company (Transportes Publics du Chablais) offers a train to Leysin once an hour from Aigle, which connects with the main Swiss national trains arriving from Montreux on the Geneva-Brig line.
By Air
From Geneva airport, there are direct trains to Leysin with a journey time of approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.
