Since 1979, Canadian International Student Services (CISS) has been providing exceptional summer camp, high school, and year-round English and French language study experiences for children, teens, and adults. CISS St. Michael’s offers summer programs for students aged 13 to 17 in downtown Toronto with lessons in General English or Global Leadership and exciting Discover Toronto activities and excursions. The program takes place at the University of Toronto campus and offers students the opportunity to experience life at a Canadian university.

Student Welfare
On the campus, there is a dedicated office and staff for student welfare. School staff will provide 24-hour supervision in the student residence.
Airport Transfers
Transfers to and from Toronto airport are included in the cost of the programs. Arrivals and departures must correspond to CISS session dates. Arrivals on Sundays and departures on Saturdays. Marshall Language Services will need to furnish the participant’s flight information to CISS St. Michael’s so that the airport transfers can be organized. Parents will receive detailed instructions on what the student should do when their flight arrives. It is also possible for parents to accompany their children to the campus personally.

COURSE CONTENT AND SAMPLE TIMETABLES
General English Program
CISS St. Michael’s offers a General English language program for learners of all levels in a true university setting. The courses include interactive activities and evening workshops to enhance learning.
The programs provide:
- Pre-course language assessment
- International classes
- 20 hours of English tuition per week
- Maximum 15 students per class
- 2, 3 or 4 week sessions
- Progress monitoring
- All educational materials
- Daily activities
- End of course certificate

Global Leadership Program
The Global Leadership course is available to students with English levels intermediate and above and focuses on providing essential communication, leadership and decision-making skills. These competencies are further enhanced by specialized workshops, each with a different subject focus. Students apply their new skills to create a final project which is presented and can then be implemented within their own community.
The programs provide:
- Pre-course language assessment

- 3 week program
- Progress monitoring

RESIDENTIAL ACCOMMODATION
The CISS St. Michael’s Summer Programs offer residential accommodation in the university dorms on campus. Residential accommodation includes double bedrooms with shared bathroom facilities.
Meals
Residential accommodation includes a full-board meal plan (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
Laundry
Bed linen and towels will be provided. Card-operated laundry machines are available.
Student Welfare
CISS St. Michael’s guarantees safety with staff living in the same residence, providing full supervision.
Insurance
Emergency health and accident insurance is included in the cost of all programs. Insurance covering travel assistance, personal liability and trip cancellation is not included in the price of the program. Marshall Language Services has a policy available through Guard.Me that covers these elements, as well as an additional policy through CareMed that covers cancellation under a wider range of circumstances, including the need to repeat school exams.
