École Chantemerle is a private boarding school located at the foot of the Alps, overlooking Lake Geneva, offering a stimulating summer school program to students aged 6 to 16. École Chantemerle is family-owned and operated, and its highest education standards, excellent facilities and beautifully located campus truly stand out. École Chantemerle offers intensive language and literature courses in French or English, or German language, as well as a highly acclaimed Science and Innovation programs. First mentioned in 861 as Blodennaco, Blonay is a municipality in the district of Riviera-Pays-d’Enhaut, in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland. Blonay overlooks Lake Geneva, with the hill Les Pléiades behind the town. The municipality stretches from an elevation of about 500 to 1,400 m and as of December 2018, had a population of 6,173. It consists of the village of Blonay, with the sections of Tercier and Cojonnex, and a number of hamlets including Les Chevalleyres. The area is home to Blonay Castle, which was built in 1175 and is listed as a Swiss heritage site of national significance.
Blonay is located just 15 minutes by car from Montreux, which it overlooks. Nestled between steep hills and the lakeside, Montreux is a traditional resort town on Lake Geneva known for its mild microclimate and the Montreux Jazz Festival. The town’s promenade is lined with flowers, sculptures, Mediterranean trees and grand Belle Époque buildings. Offshore is a medieval island castle, Château de Chillon, with ramparts, formal halls and a chapel with 14th-century murals.

Student Welfare
Supervision staff are available on campus 24 hours a day to ensure the safety and comfort of all students.
Airport Transfers
Shuttle service to and from Geneva airport, Lausanne or Vevey Train Station are included in the cost of the program. Arrival and departure days are on Sundays. Marshall Language Services will need to furnish the participant’s flight information to Ecole Chantemerle for the airport transfers to be organized. Parents will receive detailed instructions on what the student should do when their flight arrives. It is also possible for parents to accompany their children to the campus personally.

COURSE CONTENT AND SAMPLE TIMETABLES
Academic Summer Camps
École Chantemerle offers a variety of academic summer camps designed to improve proficiency in a foreign language, maths, science and entrepreneurship. The programs include 24 hours of tuition per week.
- General French, English or German Language Camp: This is a 2 to 6 week camp program available to learners of all levels aged 6 to 16.
- Literature and Society: This is a 2 to 6 week advanced program for students with English or French levels of B2 and above. The program is available to students aged 11 to 16.
- Aeronautic Engineering Camp: This is a 2-week program for students aged 11 to 16 designed to apply the basic notions in mathematics and physics through problems applied to aeronautics and the science of flight. Thematic visits and construction of a personal remote controlled aircraft are included in the program. The camp can be combined with English or French language lessons.
- Investors for a Better World: This is a 2-week program for students aged 11 to 16 with English or French levels of A2 and above. The program includes lessons on science, robotics, game design, leadership and startup creation.

Intensive Sport and Language Camps
École Chantemerle partners with professional sports academies to propose intensive sport practice as a supplement to the standard language camp. Students must enroll for 2 or 3 weeks in order to be able to enjoy the entire academic and activity program. Sports Academies include:

RESIDENTIAL ACCOMMODATION
École Chantemerle accommodates students in shared rooms of 2 to 4 students per room.
Meals
Residential accommodation includes a full-board meal plan (breakfast, lunch, dinner and 2 snacks included). Special dietary requirements can be catered for.
Laundry
Laundry service is offered once a week and bed linen are provided and changed once a week.
Student Welfare
Staff are available on campus to provide care 24 hours a day.
Insurance
Insurance covering medical and travel assistance, personal liability and trip cancellation is not included in the price of the program. The school requires non-European students to purchase insurance.Marshall Language Services has a policy available through Guard.Me that covers these elements, as well as an additional policy through CareMed that covers cancellation under a wider range of circumstances, including the need to repeat school exams. École Chantemerle offers a Winter Camp combining French, English or German language lessons with skiing and discovering Switzerland in winter.
IMMERSION PROGRAM
Throughout the school year, École Chantemerle proposes long term immersion programs (up to 10 months) in French or bilingual French and English. Long term students prepare for the DELF / Cambridge diplomas and can validate for a full school year in French with an official grade report.
