Studio Cambridge is the oldest language school in Cambridge, and the perfect place for those who want to learn English effectively in a traditional university setting in Cambridge. The school is just minutes away from all the main attractions, and students are offered various activities alongside lessons to explore Cambridge and to engage and enjoy university life.
The city of Cambridge was founded on the banks of the River Cam, 90 km northeast of London, and is located in the county of the same name (Cambridgeshire), of which it is the main cultural, commercial, and administrative center of Southwest England.
Cambridge dates back to pre-Roman times, and because of its strategic position on the river, it soon became one of the most important centers north of London, and at the beginning of the Thirteenth century, it was chosen as a university location in opposition to Oxford, Since then, it has rivaled Oxford for the title of the British capital of culture and study (as well as for the famous rowing title).
The first College of the University was founded in 1284. Today, more than seven centuries later, Cambridge is known at the international level as a center for study and academic excellence. The city is also one of the most important and beautiful tourist destinations in all of England (the University Colleges can be visited at certain times) and it is also in the middle of a wealthy county, due to good agriculture, horse farming and business exchange.

Studio Cambridge, 6 Salisbury Villas, Station Road, Cambridge CB1 2JF, United Kingdom
I have been working steadily with Studio Cambridge since I went to see it in 2005. Over the years, I have sent many students on their adult and junior programs, including students who returned for successive years, and none of them have ever been less than completely satisfied with their experience there. The staff of the school, some of which have been there for many years, have always been extremely professional and dependable, including during times of difficulty (for example, I had several students on their programs during the time of the swine flu in England a few years ago, including one who caught it). Studio Cambridge is one of three schools with whom I work regularly in this city—in particular, this one offers the advantage of being completely central and having a good selection of host families and student residences throughout the year, the latter of which are not always easy to find outside of the summer. The school has also proved to be flexible and accommodating to students who have had special requests outside of their courses. A few years ago, I was delighted to hear that they joined IALC, an organization I knew so well, which cemented for me their reputation for high quality. When clients contact me for an English course in the UK or Ireland without any special preferences of location, this is one of the schools that I recommend.

Why Study English at the Studio Cambridge school?
There are many English language schools in Cambridge, a city that is one of the top destinations for learning English in the UK and indeed the world. Studio Cambridge distinguishes itself in the following ways:

- Studio Cambridge is only one of two schools in Cambridge that belongs to the prestigious association of language schools, IALC.
- Studio Cambridge students come from over 80 countries each year.
- Studio Cambridge offers health insurance at no extra cost (unlike most schools) and experienced welfare staff to support students’ needs.
- Studio Cambridge offers great choices of accommodation for living with a local family (at three levels) or in a student residence.

From our clients
Marshall Language Services organized my study trip to Cambridge with a lot of attention to detail and quality. As a professional, Rachel is highly attentive, experienced, available, and perfectly capable of understanding and responding to the needs of someone who wants to undertake this type of educational experience. The school that she recommended for me joins academics with social activities in the best way possible. This combination allows whomever attends the school to not only significantly improve their level of English, thanks to the experience and availability of its teachers, but also to do so while having fun, meeting people, networking, and participating in group activities and excursions.
Cambridge itself is a gem of a city where you can really live and breathe the true British spirit.
Overall, it was an experience that marked a turning point in my life, and which I would recommend to everyone!”

HOST FAMILY
One of the best ways to experience British culture at first hand is to live with a host family in their private home. All homestays are carefully selected and visited regularly at least once every year to ensure consistent high standards. They provide a friendly environment, a clean and comfortable bedroom, good food, and a quiet place for study. In over 60 years of operation, the school has amassed a huge selection of host families in Cambridge, and homestays are in fact the accommodation of choice for the majority of Studio Cambridge students. The school and Marshall Language Services recommend this form of accommodation the most for language learning. Family life is informal and the people are welcoming, friendly and talkative, so students will have plenty of opportunities to practice their English with native speakers. By booking homestay accommodation, students will also not have to worry about shopping for food and preparing meals every day. Mealtimes are often the occasions in which families converse most with the students.
Additional homestay provisions and information:
- Meals: Breakfast and dinner from Monday to Friday, all meals on Saturday and Sundays.
- Clothes will be washed and bed linen and towels will be changed once per week.
- Homestays are normally located less than 30 minutes from school on foot, by bicycle or using the frequent bus services.
- Students are placed in a single room, and twin/double rooms are available on request.
- Private bathrooms in host families cannot be guaranteed.
- Any another Studio Cambridge staying with the same host will be of a different mother tongue.
- A homestay type of four stars offers good, clean accommodation with particularly high standard, in a larger home or with additional facilities such as double bed, television in bedroom, or en-suite bathroom.
- A homestay type of five stars offers executive-standard rooms, usually in a large house and typically with a bathroom for private use. It is available exclusively to students aged 18 or more.
- Adults aged 18+ do not have curfews. Students aged between 16-18 must be home at 23:00.
STUDENT RESIDENCES
All residential accommodations are for students aged 18+ and are for the exclusive use of Studio Cambridge students. Students will pay a £100 deposit on arrival, which will be refunded upon departure if the student has not lost or damaged anything in the residence, including the room key. All residences. Accommodation is booked from student’s arrival on the Sunday before their course begins up to their departure on the Saturday after their course finishes.
