The Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande (ENSR) summer camp is based in Champéry, a small village in the Swiss Alps with the largest ski and mountain bike domain in Europe. It is designed for the students of its year round school in Lausanne, as well as for youths 9 to 18 from all over the world. ENSR has many years of experience in offering residential students the opportunity to improve both their written and spoken English or French while at the same time offering a wide range of activities against a stunning mountain backdrop.
Champéry is a resort town in the heart of the Swiss Alps, 50 minutes from Lausanne and 1.25 hours from Geneva, where international flights arrive. The village is situated at 1050 m in the Chablais region at the foot of the Dents-du-Midi and the Dents Blanches, and is one of Switzerland’s oldest tourist destinations. The alpine location of the camp offers a wide range of mountain activities such as hiking, canyoning, tree climbing, and many others. Along the village street are numerous traditional chalets with their carved balconies and typical roofs, while visitors are delighted by the charming little shops, bars and restaurants. Champéry also houses a multifunctional sports center a with a wide range of sports and leisure facilities that cater to elite athletes, sports lovers and families alike. It also hosts the figure skating school of world-renowed skater and 2006 Olympic medalist Stéphane Lambiel.

Hôtel Suisse
The camp is hosted in a 3 star + renovated hotel and boasts the warm and friendly atmosphere typical of Swiss chalets. The bedrooms offer a quiet respite after the excitement of the activities of the day and the broad, open spaces in the common rooms enjoying a breathtaking view of the Alps.
The Palladium of Champery (International Sports and Culture Center)
The Palladium consists of a multi-purpose hall with a stage. There is also a swimming pool, an ice rink, a curling hall, a fitness room and a climbing wall.
Student Welfare
Students are supervised at all times in small groups and are provided with age-appropriate group activities to partake in.
Airport Transfers
Transfers between Geneva Airport and Champéry can be arranged for an additional fee. Campers may arrive on Sundays from 13:30 and depart on Saturdays.

COURSE CONTENT AND SAMPLE TIMETABLES
French or English Language Course
(All Weeks)
Students are offered 22 lessons of French or English lessons per week in the mornings in classes of 4 to 7 students, allowing the teacher to offer a program tailored to a small group . Afternoons and weekends are dedicated to sports activities and excursions.
Multi-sports Option
(Weeks 1-2)
A course designed especially for children looking for adventure and wishing to favor sports activities rather than language courses. The students are offered a wide variety of sporting activities including:

Preparation Courses for DELF or Cambridge YLE
(Weeks 2-5)
The ENSR Summer School offers students the unique opportunity to follow a course that allows them to prepare for the internationally recognized DELF (Diplôme d’Etudes de Langue Française) levels A1 and A2, and Cambridge Young Learners Exams (Starters, Movers, Flyers).
- By the end of the course, students are ready to enrol and sit for the exam, at an approved DELF or Cambridge center in their home country
- 88 lessons of 45 minutes each are delivered by highly qualified teachers
- Language methods are specifically designed to prepare for the exams.
- Evaluation tests assess the students abilities and identify areas for improvement.

Residential Accommodation
The camp is located at Hôtel Suisse in Champéry, a beautiful village surrounded by mountains in Valais in Switzerland. The hotel, built in the style of the former Swiss houses, has been completely renovated and boasts the warm and friendly atmosphere typical of Swiss chalets. The twin bedded rooms – complete with private bathroom – offer a quiet respite after the excitement of the activities of the day and the broad, open spaces in the common rooms enjoying a breathtaking view.
Meals
The course price includes full board.
Laundry
Bed linen and towels are provided by the hotel during the stay. Laundry service is included for stays over 2 weeks.
Evenings
Each evening students will have a range of activities organized for them including movies, games, barbecues, discos and others.
Insurance
Insurance covering medical and travel assistance, personal liability and trip cancellation is not included in the price of the program. Marshall Language Services has a policy available through Guard.Me that covers these elements, as well as an additional policy through CareMed that covers cancellation under a wider range of circumstances, including the need to repeat school exams. Dates and Fees
The camp runs from July 2, 2023- August 5, 2023. The minimum stay is 1 week and the maximum is 5 weeks.

École Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande (ENSR) International School is a private, co-educational boarding school, founded in 1906 and located in Lausanne, Switzerland. It has approximately 600 students and boarding facilities for students aged 12 and above. Students are taught in French or English. The Middle School curriculum follows the Swiss system with a few contributions from the French system and additions specific to ENSR in order to ensure the students enjoy the best possible learning environment. In High School, students work towards either the Swiss Maturity or the International Baccalaureate Diploma.
