With over 40 years of experience in teaching French as a Second Language, France Langue offers a range of varied and original programmes to suit the needs and interests of every student. The Bordeaux school is the perfect choice for individuals wanting to improve their French while immersing themselves into the culture of the famous wine capital.
Bordeaux, a city of culture, awaits you to discover its exceptional 18th Century architectural heritage, its river and its unique atmosphere. The city offers visits to its prestigious buildings and tastes of its wines that are famous throughout the world. The warmth of its welcome, its conviviality, its way of life and its gastronomy will make you fall in love with Bordeaux, a city known as the “Little Paris.” In the 18th Century, talented urban planners and architects transformed the city under the direction of the Crown. The gorgeous building facades in yellow stone, like those of the sidewalks that run alongside the Garonne River for many kilometers, and the historic monuments including the Palais Rohan, the Palais de la Bourse and the Grand Théâtre, have all preserved their authenticity and splendor. The French public gardens of the 18th Century were transformed into English-style gardens in the 19th Century, and today it is a pleasure to go for a stroll in them. Bordeaux will offer you unforgettable views and walks that are full of history, and will allow you to enter the heart of an era that has forever characterized the city.

France Langue Bordeaux: 42 Rue Lafaurie Monbadon, 33000 Bordeaux, France
“France Langue Bordeaux, known at the time as BLS, was one of the first language schools abroad that I ever visited, and I’ve been sending students there steadily ever since. As a city, Bordeaux impressed me for its lovely surroundings, and of course the fine gastronomy and wines I had the pleasure of sampling in its restaurants. It is the perfect city for students to go who have either already been to Paris, or who would like much of what the capital has to offer, but in a city of a more manageable size. Long-term students will be able to appreciate the lower prices in general with respect to Paris, and the possibility of staying with a host family that is closer to the school. France Langue Bordeaux also has other forms of good quality accommodation that are far lower than comparable accommodation there. This school also offers the unique possibility of combining a French language course with a wine appreciation course, and there is no better city in France in which to do it. Students will also appreciate the ability to visit the surrounding region of Aquitaine for its historic and cultural beauty, and the ease of getting there from Paris on the train. All of the students I have sent to France Langue, in Bordeaux as well as in its other French cities, have been very satisfied.”

HOMESTAY
One of the best ways to experience full immersion into French culture is to choose homestay accommodation. All homestays are carefully selected and visited regularly to ensure consistently high standards. In over 40 years of operation, the school has amassed a large selection of host families in Bordeaux, and homestays are in fact the accommodation of choice for the majority of France Langue students. The school and Marshall Language Services recommend this form of accommodation the most for language learning. Family life is informal and the people are welcoming, friendly and talkative, so students will have plenty of opportunities to practise their French with native speakers. By booking homestay accommodation, students will also not have to worry about shopping for food and preparing meals every day. Mealtimes are often the occasions in which families converse most with the students.

- Each host family hosts one or more students with a different mother tongue
