Kingsway English Centre: Foregate Street, Worcester, England, United Kingdom
“I first learned about Kingsway when it joined IALC, and I had the pleasure of visiting Worcester and the school on a tour of central England. Worcester itself is a lovely, historic, and very “English” city, and the journey towards this location, through the English countryside and villages not far from the Cotswolds, was just as enjoyable. Kingsway stands far apart from the average English language school in that the average age of its students is 44, and it focuses on a highly personalized level of service in everything. Mature students who are evaluating programs will find that the price of Kingsway’s courses, while higher than those of the average language school, will provide a much better value for the small class sizes and individual attention from the teachers and the entire school staff. Students will also be able to appreciate the company of persons their own age, and high quality of the host families for the fact that Kingsway does not have to compete with other language schools in Worcester for them. Also, considering the small size of the school, it has a high number of different nationalities among its students, practically guaranteeing that its students will be speaking English all the time (also in Worcester, a city in which there are not many foreigners.) For older students who want to make serious progress learning English in a short amount of time, Kingsway is the school to attend.”

From our clients
I attended Kingsway for two weeks this past June, and it was a wonderful experience for me. From the beginning, the staff was very professional, courteous and available to respond to my questions and to find the best solution to my needs. I chose to stay with a host family, with whom I immediately felt at home. The school is located in the main street of Worcester, a charming and relaxing little city with lots of places to eat during the lunch break. The organization of the school is impeccable, and the teachers are highly experienced and available to their students. I chose this school from some others that I had looked at, because the classes are made up of only six people at the most, an advantage that allows the students to receive a lot of personal attention from the teachers and for the students to get to know each other well. I met students from all over the world, and many of them had already attended Kingsway in the past. I am very satisfied with the progress I made because of this school, and I hope to go again.”

HOST FAMILY
One of the best ways to learn more about the British way of life and culture is to choose homestay accommodation. All homestays are carefully selected and visited regularly to ensure consistently high standards. Homestay is in fact the accommodation of choice for the majority of Kingsway students. The school and Marshall Language Services recommend this form of accommodation the most for language learning. Family life is informal and the people are welcoming, friendly and talkative, so students will have plenty of opportunities to practice their English with native speakers. By booking homestay accommodation, students will also not have to worry about shopping for food and preparing meals every day. Mealtimes are often the occasions in which families converse most with the students.
Kingsway offers three homestay options:
Regular: Regular homestay offers a comfortable and clean single room with shared bathroom facilities.
Premium: Premium homestays usually have a prestigious address, exceptional facilities and can generally cater for special diets. Most premium homestays have shared bathrooms.
Executive: Executive homestay offers superb quality accommodation with a private bathroom.
Additional homestay provisions and information:
- Meal plan: All homestays provide breakfast and an evening meal on a daily basis, and lunch if students are at home on a Saturday or Sunday.
- All families provide bed linen and towels.
- Host families do students’ laundry once per week.
- All host families are within Worcester city limits, a 15 – 35 minute walk from the school, or a 5-10 minute bus ride away.
- Accommodation is from Sunday to Saturday. It is possible to book extra nights at an additional cost.
SELF-CATERING APARTMENTS
Kingsway owns two well-equipped apartments located 200 meters from the school. Each apartment has 1 double bedroom and 1 single bedroom. Some of the bathrooms have a bath in addition to the shower.
