With over 40 years of experience in teaching French as a Second Language, France Langue offers a range of varied and original programmes to suit the needs and interests of every student. The Paris school is the perfect choice for individuals wanting to experience the iconic capital and those with a particular interest in fashion and Parisian culture.
Paris, the cosmopolitan capital of France, is one of the largest cities in Europe, with a population of almost 12 million in the metropolitan area. Located in the north of France on the river Seine, Paris is amongst the most beautiful and romantic of all cities, brimming with historic associations and remaining vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, food and design. The city is divided into 20 arrondissement (districts), numbered from 1 to 20. The Seine River divides the city into the Rive Gauche (left bank) to the south and the Rive Droite (right bank) to the north. Many of the famous boulevards and city centre buildings owe their current design, also in terms of space and perspective, to the architect Haussmann and to the Emperor Napoleon III, with the Avenue des Champs-Élysées the most famous of these. Night life in Paris is rich with famous cabarets such as the Moulin Rouge and the Crazy Horse, and restaurants offering the finest of cuisine, (including 70 that are Michelin-starred), available at all prices.

“I have been sending students to France Langue Paris since I attended my very first IALC workshop there in 2005. At the time, the Victor Hugo school and the school in Nice were the only locations it had; later it acquired BLS in Bordeaux and Biarritz (now called France Langue Bordeaux and France Langue Biarritz) and then added on the school in Martinique. However, despite these changes, one factor remains the same, and that is the high quality French courses and experience that France Langue offers its students. When determining which schools in France to work with, as members of IALC, I was automatically assured that these schools were good, but later on, when Study Travel Magazine created the “Best School in (a particular country)” awards, the fact that France Langue won it immediately for France two years in a row came as no surprise. However, the strongest argument for why I should be sending my clients to the France Langue Paris school happened during a chance encounter. As agent, I was visiting a school in Madrid in 2006 named Eureka, which is also on this website. The owner of the school offered to let me meet one of his students, a man in his thirties, and when I was introduced to him as a study abroad counselor, he asked me if I happened to know a school in London “as fabulous as France Langue had been in Paris.” Yes, as a matter of fact I did (I recommended to him the Francis King School of English, also on this website, as it was the only one I knew really well there at the time), but his comment about France Langue has stayed with me throughout my career. The other students I have sent to France Langue’s various schools in France have also been very satisfied with their experiences there, and it has always been a pleasure for me to work with them.”

HOMESTAY
One of the best ways to experience full immersion into French culture is to choose homestay accommodation. All homestays are carefully selected and visited regularly to ensure consistently high standards. In over 40 years of operation, the school has amassed a large selection of host families in Paris, and homestays are in fact the accommodation of choice for the majority of France Langue students. The school and Marshall Language Services recommend this form of accommodation the most for language learning. Family life is informal and the people are welcoming, friendly and talkative, so students will have plenty of opportunities to practise their French with native speakers. By booking homestay accommodation, students will also not have to worry about shopping for food and preparing meals every day. Mealtimes are often the occasions in which families converse most with the students.
Additional homestay provisions and information:
- All host families are located within 5-35 minutes from the school
- Each host family hosts one or more students with a different mother tongue
- Room only, bed and breakfast, half-board and full-board options available
