The Hochalpines Institut Ftan (HIF) International Summer Adventure Camp for children and teenagers aged 10-16 is a two-week learning journey, high above the world at 1700 meters on the campus of the Hochalpines Institut Ftan (HIF) boarding school and sports academy in the Engadin Valley, Switzerland. At this camp, students will study English or German with young people from around the world and explore the Swiss Alps through exciting activities and excursions.
Ftan is a former municipality in the district of Inn in the Swiss canton of Graubünden with a population of approximately 500. Today, along with the former municipalities of Ardez, Guarda, Tarasp, and Sent, it is part of municipality of Scuol.
Ftan is located in the the Engadin valley in Switzerland, which forms the southern part of the canton Graubünden. The valley is made up of two parts: Upper Engadin with the famous St. Moritz, and Lower Engadin with the main town Scuol. Several valleys next to the Engadin are also part of this region: Val Müstair over the Fuorn Pass, which contains a large part of the Swiss National Park, Switzerland’s only national park. Val Bregaglia and Val Poschiavo are two Italian-speaking valleys connected to the main valley via the Maloja and the Bernina passes.

Student Welfare
On the campus, there is a dedicated office and staff providing student welfare. An emergency telephone is available 24/7.
Airport Transfers
Airport transfers to and from Zurich airport are available at an additional cost. To organize the transfers, Marshall Language Services will need to furnish the participant’s flight information to HIF Summer Camp. If children are travelling as unaccompanied minors, HIF Summer Camp staff will receive them from the airline personnel, and when the program is over, accompany the participants back to the airport and hand over the children to airline staff.

COURSE CONTENT AND SAMPLE TIMETABLES
English or German Language Course
The HIF Summer Adventure Camp program includes 25 lessons of English or German language per week.
The programs provide:

- 18.75 clock hours of tuition per week
- Maximum class size of 15

RESIDENTIAL ACCOMMODATION
Students on the summer camp program will be accommodated in the Hochalpines Institut Ftan boarding houses providing excellent safety and security. Residential accommodation includes twin bedrooms with shared bathroom facilities with separate sections for girls and boys.
Meals
Residential accommodation includes a full-board meal plan (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
Laundry
Bed sheets and towels are provided. Laundry service is offered.
Student Welfare
Students will receive 24/7 pastoral care during their entire 2 week stay.
