“I was excited to learn that IALC had admitted a German language school in Heidelberg to its association a few years ago, and an International House school at that. College Palatinum has been around for many years, but these two recognitions cemented for me the quality assurance of the school. As a result, it has become a perfect offering for my clients. Like Oxford and Cambridge in England, the University of Heidelberg is one of the oldest in Europe and is internationally renowned. The city is compact and was almost completely spared the ravages of World War II, so the Baroque center remains a visual jewel box for visitors. The school is in the center of this very walkable city, in a beautiful, typical old German building, within reach of all of Heidelberg’s main sites and places where international language students will enjoy hanging out and practicing German with the local university students. College Palatinum has an assortment of German language classes for all student types and ages, host families and some very chic student apartments at less than half an hour from the school, and a varied activity program that will allow its students to see not just this beautiful city, but many of the surrounding ones. What more could a foreign student want? If I decide to learn German someday, this is where I will enrol.”

Family life is informal and the people are welcoming, friendly and talkative, so students will have plenty of opportunities to practice their German with native speakers. By booking homestay accommodation, students will also not have to worry about shopping for food and preparing meals every day. Mealtimes are often the occasions in which families converse most with the students.
